The Zanskar Frozen River trek is one-of-a-kind, one of the most commonly occurring items on many trekkers’ wish list. This trek is definitely not for a first-timer, and even for seasoned trekkers, who have a few Himalayan treks under their belt, this trek is like nothing they’ve seen before. The barely inhabitable environment of the ‘Chadar’, as the Zanskaris very matter-of-factly call it, has all the makings of a highly glamorous trek - one which challenges a trekker to test her attitude and tolerance while providing for some of the best visuals imaginable. On this trek, the only constant is the freezing cold, with temperature plummeting to -30 degrees at times. Dressing sensibly is of vital importance.
